For some reason this is becoming an increasingly common question, probably because so many people have been fearful of getting a new job over the last 18 months or so.
The short answer is No, since you are not likley to perform at a good standard if you have no interest in the job and would sooner or later face getting pushed out. However, the deeper answer involves WHY you dont like the job. Maybe its the people you don't get on with, maybe your boss has a style you dont appreciate or maybe you dont like the location, the money etc etc.S elf analysis of these and similar issues will quickly tell you whether the situation can be resolved or whether you are in fact better off leaving and give you some good clues as to what to look for in your next employer.

You are so right - best to get make the decision yourself rather than someone making it for you
Not to mention to what is does to home life; my bf and I nearly separated over his constant bad mood that stemmed from his frustration with his job, and his boss. The ultimatum eventually had top be presented and fortunately he got a better sales role very quickly and life is sweet again
If its time to go then dont delay. It always takes corage to change a job when you are not forced to but the change is nearly always for the better. What is maybe more important is to have a career path or career objective and kepp true to it, which means changing jobs when the reason for doing the current job no longer adds to the career path.
